 | Roger Connor Sidelined for 3 Weeks Tuesday, September 11th, 1888: The New Orleans Pelicans were dealt a severe blow when Roger Connor was hurt making a defensive play recently in a game against the Omaha Packers. After the game, the team trainer reported Connor might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 31-year-old shortstop out for the rest of the season with a sprained ankle. They indicated it would take Connor at least 3 weeks to heal.
In his season totals, Connor has 22 home runs, .295 BA, .343 OBP, 85 RBIs and 88 runs scored. He has played in 138 games. |   |
